This is a cool and simple art project for kindergartners! Kids can make their own cactus painting using just their fingerprints. It’s a great way to teach art in a classroom.

This tutorial is a fun art activity that can be done with toddlers, kids new to art and craft, and even babies. It’s extremely simple and fun to make. The inspiration for the painting is a cactus plant and the materials used to make it are a sheet of paper and watercolors. You can do it as an activity with your friends and class fellows or even your family. This tutorial also gives you the liberty to use different colors in making the cactus plant instead of just the standard green. Isn’t that cool? DIY Super Easy Fingerprint Cactus Painting Art Idea

Materials Required

A white sheet of paper
A pair of scissors
Watercolors
Black pen
Purple sketch pen

Procedure

Step 1: Starting With The Sheet Of Paper

Take a white sheet of paper and cut a circle out of it. Placing the sheet on the table, take some yellow paint on a mixing palette and dip your index finger into it. Now, stamp this finger on the sheet right in the middle as shown in the picture below.

Step 2: Use More Watercolours

Wash your finger and take some orange color on the palette and dipping your finger in it, stamp it right below the point that you made in the previous step. This stamp should be a little tilted to the right. Make a similar stamp a little tilted to the left side at the bottom of the orange stamp, this time using green paint. Now, make a stamp at the top of the green one using the same paint with your little finger. Then, make a stamp a little tilted towards the right, with your index finger at the bottom of the green stamp using some blue paint. Finally, take some neon green paint on your fingertip, and stamp it on top of the yellow fingerprint. See the picture below for reference

Step 3: Using The Purple Sketch Pen

Take some red paint on your index finger, and stamp it thrice vertically, next to each other at the bottom of all the prints. Now, take a purple sketch pen and make three tiny lines on the top sides of each print except the red ones. See the picture below for reference.

Step 4: Draw Thorns On The Cactus

Take a black pen and draw multiple small lines on each fingerprint except the red ones at the bottom. See the picture below for reference.
